Walt's new associate Lydia freaks out when the DEA searches the offices of Madrigal. Skyler insists the children stay with Hank and Marie. Hank is offered a promotion to ASAC.
Walt uses covert tactics to place a bug in Hank's office, with plans to monitor the ongoing DEA investigation into Madrigal. Business is booming again, but Skyler decides to make one last ditch effort to save her family. Also, Hank comes to a shocking realization about 'Heisenberg'.
Still reeling from his realization that Walt is Heisenberg, Hank suffers a panic attack while driving home. While he recuperates, Hank demands that all the materials on the Gus Fring case be brought to his house for review. Jesse has trouble facing all that he's done, and worries that Walt has had Mike killed. Walt's cancer comes back, and he returns to chemo. He also discovers a tracking device on his car, leading to an explosive confrontation with Hank.
Following Walt's heated confrontation with Hank, he leaves and attempts to call Skyler. To his horror, she's already on the phone with Hank. Hank begs Skyler to give a statement about Walt's activities, but she realizes he has no proof, and clams up. Meanwhile, Walt buries his money in the desert, and Lydia takes drastic measures to alter her business relationship with Declan. Also, a distraught Jesse gets himself arrested, opening a new door for Hank.

Hank refuses to give up the chase, leading Walt to unleash a bombshell of epic proportions. Finally, Walt talks Jesse into leaving town, but a shocking revelation throws a wrench into the plan.
Walt returns home to find that Jesse decided not to burn the place down. Unbeknownst to Heisenberg, Jesse's plan was actually thwarted by Hank's intervention. Jesse agrees to help bring down Walt, while an unassuming Mr. White tries to mend fences. Skyler urges her husband to take drastic action, but Walt won't listen. Walt then prepares to meet with Jesse, unaware that the DEA is ready and waiting to pounce.
