Culprits Official Synopsis
"Joe Petrus is living the American dream: a fiancé to Jules, dad to Frankie and Bud, and starting his own business in a sleepy suburban town. But unbeknownst to his family, Joe has a secret. Three years ago, he was recruited by notorious British criminal Dianne Harewood to join her crew and take part in a high-stakes crime that promised to make Joe rich and provide him with a brand-new life. And now Joe's dangerous past is about to catch up with him. When a killer starts targeting the crew behind the crime, Joe realizes that the only way to keep his family safe is to return to London, make contact with his old gang, and track down Dianne."
Why You Should Watch 'Culprits'
A high octane thriller-caper sees a bunch of not-that-good-guys being picked off one by one after a heist. Who is doing it, and why? Everyone is a suspect when no one trusts the others. Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits) is Joe - who has done a very bad thing - while Gemma Arterton (recently in The King's Man) stars as Dianne and Suzy Eddie shows up as Vincent. If you like Ocean's Eleven, and almost any Jason Statham movie (cockney accents included), this one should be on your filter!
Who Are the Actors in 'Culprits'?
A largely British cast is headed by Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, who some might remember from Misfits (was that really a decade ago?), and more recently Generation. He plays Joe, living with his finacé and their two kids. After the heist, he's trying to get his life turned around. Shenanigans ensue, bringing him back into the life. He'll do anything he can to protect his new family.
Gemma Arterton is better known as a film actress, but does delve into "television" occasionally (such Black Narcisuss). Here she takes on the role of the heist gang leader, or at least organiser, Dianne. She's the obvious culprit in a swathe of culprits in Culprits when the bad times hit the fan.
Suzy Eddie Izzard is Vincent Hawkes, a billionaire businessman, and the possible bankroll for the heist. Why a billionaire would need to stage a robbery remains to be seen, or if he is the one behind the cleaning up of the job.
|Gemma Arterton||Dianne Harewood|
|Suzy Eddie Izzard||Vincent Hawkes|

While Disney is obviously an American company, they are hoping to expand the brand into subdivided countries. Absolutely nothing to do with local tax breaks for productions, right? Culprits is the first of the British based series planned, even through filming takes us from Canada to Spain. There are reportedly another SIXTY shows in some stage of production, just in Britain.
