During the filming of a sequel, Cash Grab 2, Davis loses control of his abilities and Gad disappears while passing through his body. With no one able to find Gad, the DODC places Davis under lifelong surveillance and the Hollywood studios create the Doorman Clause, banning superpowered people from appearing in film and television, and requiring actors to sign contracts stating that they have no powers.
