Season 1 starts Tuesday 12th August 2025 // Network: FX
Alien: Earth Official Synopsis
"In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named 'Wendy' marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani's spaceship collides into Prodigy City, 'Wendy' and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined."
Why You Should Watch 'Alien: Earth'
Alien: Earth is the most ambitious reimagining of the Alien franchise, and the first to unfold entirely on Earth. Set in 2120, two years before the original 1979 film, the series captures viewers in a world ruled by mega-corporations, synthetic hybrids, and advanced AI. But these man-made horrors pale when a catastrophic crash unleashes an otherworldly terror into the heart of a high-tech city. Under the vision of creator Noah Hawley, the show combines the cinematic grandeur of Fargo with the unsettling dread of Alien, crafting a vision of the future that feels both dazzling and deeply unsettling. It's a fresh but gritty setting that keeps the tension grounded in human vulnerability while delivering the awe and fear fans expect.
Alien: Earth stands out not just because of its deeps connection to the iconic films, but the way it expands the mythology without leaning heavily on nostalgia. Hawley introduces new horrors - grotesque, inventive creatures that rival the Xenomorph in both menace and design - while layering in themes of identity, corporate greed, and the limits of humanity. The cast, led by Sydney Chandler in a breakout role, brings emotional weight among the madness, with supporting turns from Timothy Olyphant and Alex Lawther adding depth and texture. The result is a series that's as much about moral dilemmas and survival instincts as it is about nerve-shredding suspense.
The critical reception has already been glowing, praising its balance of philosophical inquiry and relentless tension. Alien: Earth isn't just another monster-of-the-week horror. It is a meticulously built, gripping drama that rewards close attention and weekly anticipation. For anyone who wants a series that’s as thrilling as it is thought-provoking, Alien: Earth is shaping up to be essential weekly viewing.
Who Is In 'Alien: Earth'?
Sydney Chandler stars as Wendy the first hybrid - a child’s consciousness housed in a synthetic adult body. Wendy is described as a combination of Ripley (tough and in the moment) and Newt (childlike and thrust into a very adult situation). Unlike other female protagonists in the franchise, Wendy is combat trained, to better survive encounters with the xenomorphs. Still early in her career, she's already captivated audiences with turns in the psychological thriller film 'Don't Worry Darling', and the Apple TV+ mystery drama 'Sugar'.
Kirsh is played by Timothy Olyphant and is Wendy's synthetic mentor, guided by logic and detached calm. Never quite knowing whether Kirsh's intentions are for the greater good or for bad, he wishes the Hybrids would become something more than human. Olyphant rose to fame as Sheriff Seth Bullock in the Western 'Deadwood', and later earned acclaim as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens in 'Justified'. He's also demonstrated his range on TV in the horror-comedy 'Santa Clarita Diet' and as Cobb Vanth in 'The Mandalorian'.
Alex Lawther portrays Wendy’s protective brother CJ 'Hermit', a human soldier, part of a group of "Lost Boys" sent into a wreckage where Xenomorphs are present. Hermit aims to protect his sister after an unexpected event reunites them. He has delivered standout performances in 'The End of the F**ing World', an unforgettable 'Black Mirror' episode, and the acclaimed Star Wars prequel series 'Andor'.
Samuel Blenkin plays Boy Kavalier, the enigmatic boy genius tech mogul CEO and founder of Prodigy Corporation. He is the instigator behind the Hybrid project and is driven with an unsettling resolve. On screen, he has appeared in a wide range of projects, including critically acclaimed series such as 'Peaky Blinders' and 'Atlanta', and also had stints in 'The Sandman' and 'The Continental'.
Morrow is portrayed by Babou Ceesay, and is an employee of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the USCSS Maginot's Chief Security Officer. He is the sole survivor when the ship crashes to Earth and is subsequently tasked with retrieving the ship's cargo - not just the xenomorph but more otherworldly horrors - by any means necessary. Ceesay has been seen in various shows including 'Into the Badlands', 'Wolfe' and 'We Hunt Together'.

Fun Fact
The original title of the show was apparently (at least in production) Alien: Neverland. This was either a cover up of the real title to avoid spoiling the setting too early, or the Peter Pan connotations were to be abundant, with the themes of a young human uploaded to a synth to live forever and never grow up, and even Wendy, the name of the lead character being prominent in both stories.
