The 17th-season opener begins with 12 celebrities, including Valerie Harper, Leah Remini, Jack Osbourne, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Bill Nye and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. In a new twist, performance and results shows will be combined this season.

The first elimination of the season occurs after the second week of performances. Dances include the samba, jive, rumba and paso doble.

Another elimination occurs after the third week of performances. This week's theme is Hollywood Night. Dances include the quickstep, fox-trot, Charleston, cha-cha, rumba, paso doble and jive.

Another elimination occurs after the fourth week of performances. Julianne Hough serves as a guest judge.

Another elimination occurs after the fifth week of performances, which features celebrities dancing to songs that represent a memorable time in their lives. Also: Aloe Blacc sings "Wake Me Up".

Another elimination occurs after the sixth week of performances.

Another elimination occurs after the seventh week of performances. Included: team dances.

Another elimination occurs after the eighth week of performances, which features both an individual round and a dance-off competition. Also: Cher performs and serves as a guest judge.

Another elimination occurs after the ninth week of performances, which features trio dances.

Another elimination occurs after the tenth week of performances, which features celebrities performing two different dances to the same song-one version being acoustic music. Also: Maksim Chmerkovskiy serves as a guest judge. Performers include Kerli and Noah Guthrie.

Three rounds of dances are featured in the 11th and final week of performances for the 14th season: a judges' pick; a samba relay; and a freestyle. Also: Kellie Pickler and TLC perform.

In the 17th-season finale, the couples tackle a fusion dance and a winner is announced. Also: Lady Antebellum, Enrique Iglesias, Colbie Caillat and Ylvis perform.
