Blair's father, Harold, comes home for the holidays with an unexpected guest. Blair cannot hide her disappointment and makes a plan to get rid of Roman forever. Jenny and Vanessa help Serena get the best Christmas present ever for Dan, who has a surprise of his own for Serena. Rufus refuses to remain the understanding husband any longer after Alison's former lover sends a letter to the house.

Without CJ's permission, Ella takes the kids to visit Janine. The firehouse turns into the object of a reality tv show that is titled "Sparks," but the firefighters get burned when the host misrepresent their interviews.

When Janine is discharged from rehab, Ella opens the home to her and gives her job-interview pointers. Elsewhere, Curtis goes on a diet after failing a physical.

The Payne gang decides to see a family therapist, much to the scoffing Curtis' chagrin.

Dan travels into the past a few months before he started time-travelling, and ends up in an insane asylum with a man named Evan who claims he too is a time traveler. Livia arrives from past, being pulled out of time as she tries to deal with her upcoming marriage. As Livia and Dan try to reunite Evan with a lost love, Katie notices blood at home and starts to panic, and Jack pursues his investigation of Elliot Langley.

The two teams will be judged on the two day itineraries from their jobs. Meanwhile, Ashli and Dunbar argue.
